Picture Tree Intl. has secured the international sales rights for "Prank," an enchanting family adventure-comedy directed by Benjamin Heisenberg. The screenplay was penned by Heisenberg in collaboration with Peer Klehmet, known for their work on "The Famous Five."

PTI will unveil "Prank" as a market premiere at the European Film Market in Berlin before its German theatrical release this spring.

Synopsis: Harmless Prank Gone Awry

The film centers around 12-year-old Lucas Roosen and his Chinese exchange student, Xi Zhou (Max Zheng). An innocuous April Fool's prank spins out of control, leading to a chaotic adventure that involves gangsters and incompetent police officers.

"Prank" is a production of Kundschafter Filmproduktion (Germany) in collaboration with Tellfilm (Switzerland). The film received support from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM), the German Federal Film Board (FFA), and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF). In Switzerland, funding was provided by the Federal Office of Culture (FOC), Filmstandortförderung Schweiz (FiSS), and Innerschweizer Filmfachgruppe (IFFG). "Prank" is a coproduction with public broadcasters KiKA, MDR, BR, HR, and SRF/SRG SSR.
