Will Smith Teases 'Hancock 2' with Zendaya in Talks

17 years after its release, Will Smith hints at a potential sequel to the superhero film "Hancock."

During an appearance on xQc's Twitch stream, Smith revealed, "There's a really cool 'Hancock 2' idea. ... We haven't even talked about it, but I'm going to give you one little piece: Zendaya is being approached for a role."

Released in 2008, "Hancock" starred Smith as an amnesiac, alcoholic superhero struggling to control his powers and cope with the damage he causes while saving lives. The film grossed over $600 million worldwide and received mixed reviews from critics.

Smith's confirmation of sequel talks marks the latest development in the long-rumored "Hancock 2" project. In 2009, director Peter Berg suggested a sequel with the original cast returning. However, plans stalled in the following years.

Smith's recent Oscar win for "King Richard" and Zendaya's Emmy-winning role in "Euphoria" have reignited interest in a sequel. If "Hancock 2" comes to fruition, it would mark Smith's return to the superhero genre following his role in the upcoming "Emancipation."
