Restored Director's Cut of Peter Bogdanovich's "Squirrels to the Nuts" Now Available

Lionsgate has released the restored director's cut of the late Peter Bogdanovich's final film, "Squirrels to the Nuts," on digital platforms.

Statement from Lionsgate:

"Peter Bogdanovich was one of the most accomplished filmmakers of his generation," said Ron Schwartz, Motion Picture Group's Chief Operating Officer. "Lionsgate is delighted to present his final movie in its fully restored director's cut, as he intended it to be seen."

Restoration Process:

The Museum of Modern Art screened a version of the director's cut in 2022. The restoration was overseen by Frank Marshall, Adria Petty, and Bogdanovich's family members.

Critical Reception:

Bogdanovich, known for his seminal works "The Last Picture Show" and "Paper Moon," passed away in 2022 at the age of 82. Producer and former wife, Louise Stratten, expressed that Bogdanovich was dissatisfied with the original theatrical release, saying, "There's a better movie there."
