Rachel Brosnahan Believes David Corenswet Embodies Superman After Seeing Him in Iconic Suit

Rachel Brosnahan witnessed David Corenswet's impeccable portrayal of Superman firsthand prior to his official casting. Brosnahan, portraying Lois Lane in James Gunn's "Superman," shared her experience witnessing Corenswet don the iconic super-suit with Variety.

"It was a surreal moment when I saw David dressed as Superman," Brosnahan recalled. "During our screen tests, I encountered him in the suit, and I instantly knew he possessed the essence of the character."

Brosnahan emphasized the significance of her role as Lois Lane, acknowledging the legacy of previous portrayals. "I admired 'Smallville' and 'Superman and Lois.' I grew up with Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder in the Donner 'Superman' films. We aimed to honor the past while creating our own interpretation."

Despite potential trepidation about taking on such a renowned character, Brosnahan found solace in Gunn's enthusiasm. "The production was filled with joy and a genuine passion for Superman," she stated.

"James is a passionate nerd who adores Superman," Brosnahan added. "It was an incredible privilege to contribute to his vision and bring this iconic hero to life."
