Finn Wolfhard Reflects on "Stranger Things" Finale, Embraces New Projects

At the Variety Studio presented by Audible at Sundance, Finn Wolfhard shared his sentiments about his first press tour since completing filming on Netflix's "Stranger Things." The actor expressed that promoting his latest film, A24's "The Legend of Ochi," feels like a post-graduation moment.

Wolfhard spent a decade on "Stranger Things," which became his breakout role. Filming the final episode in December was a highly emotional experience. "It was the last 10 years of my life," he said. "Everyone had a long journey together... It was really special."

"The Legend of Ochi" marks Wolfhard's first post-"Stranger Things" promotion, symbolizing a new chapter in his career. He explained, "It feels like post-graduation or something. I am excited for everything to come out."

In "The Legend of Ochi," Wolfhard plays alongside puppets and animatronics, a creative choice he appreciated. "It makes our jobs easier," he said. "There's something to be said about amazing craftsmanship, and being able to feel that in a scene really helps."

The film's release has been postponed to April 25 after the director, Isaiah Saxon, faced challenges from the Los Angeles wildfires. Despite the setback, Wolfhard remains optimistic about the future.
