France TV Distribution Launches International Sales for "Aspergirl" Season 2 at MIP London
Paris, France - France TV Distribution, the sales and co-production arm of France Televisions Group, will present the international distribution rights for Season 2 of the acclaimed comedy series "Aspergirl" at the upcoming MIP London (February 23-27).
International Acclaim and Distribution
As the leading TV exporter in France, France TV Distribution handles the worldwide distribution of "Aspergirl." Season 2 is a production of Paris-based Patafilm, founded by Antonin Ehrenberg, in collaboration with Velvet Films from Belgium.
Filming and Delivery
Filming for the eight-part, 22-minute Season 2 commenced in Angoulême in September and is scheduled for completion in fall.
Synopsis
"Aspergirl" revolves around Louison, a single mother navigating the challenges of raising her son, Guilhem, who has recently been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Nicole Ferroni ("Mental") stars as Louison.
Season 2 Storyline
In Season 2, Louison has found love with Marica, an environmental activist. They plan to live together in an energy-efficient home. However, Guilhem's sudden return after five years disrupts their plans. When Guilhem announces his intention to join a program for a Martian settlement, Louison grapples with his choice, threatening her newfound happiness.
Creative Team and Awards
Judith Godinot and Hadrien Cousin created "Aspergirl," with co-writers Chloé Lefour and Claire Saint-Pierre. Alice and Rose Philippon direct Season 2.
In 2023, the series received official French selection at Series Mania, earning Carel Brown (Guilhem in Season 1) the Best Actor award. Arthur de Crépy ("Tapie") portrays Guilhem in Season 2.

The new season features a star-studded cast, including Louise Massin ("Carrément craignos"), Suzanne de Baecque ("Derby Girl"), Marc Fraize ("Antoinette dans les Cévennes"), Alexandre Steiger ("Marianne"), Mani Choukrane ("Ceux Qui Rougissent"), Chaili Soufir, and Eva Rami ("La vengeance aux yeux clairs").

"Aspergirl" Season 2 will premiere in France on Ciné+OCS, the pay TV operator owned by Canal+ Group. This acquisition follows the purchase of OCS and Orange Studio, the pay TV and film divisions of Orange, by Canal+.
