'The Daily Show': Jon Stewart Mocks Trump's Trade Tariffs, Plans for Panama and Greenland

In a recent episode of "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart criticized President Donald Trump's trade tariffs and intentions to acquire Panama and Greenland.

Stewart began by spotlighting news reports on a potential "new trade war" stemming from Trump's tariffs on the EU, Canada, and Mexico.

"The EU? Canada? Do we have any friends?" Stewart quipped, referring to Trump's longstanding animosity towards Mexico. "But Canada? The most reliable and pleasant ally?"

Stewart then targeted Trump's threats to "take back the Panama Canal" and use military force to seize Greenland.

"Denmark, Panama, and Canada. We're America! We used to fight Nazis. Now we're targeting easy prey," Stewart joked. "What are we, the Jake Paul of nations?"

Stewart played a clip of Trump justifying his tariffs by criticizing previous trade deals with Canada. He then revealed the architect of the purportedly poor deal: "Trump."

Stewart also acknowledged that Trump had temporarily suspended Canadian tariffs after negotiations with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and granted Mexico a 30-day reprieve by securing 10,000 troops for the border.
