When he's placed with his eccentric new foster mother, Gerdie, Bernt joins a quirky local Scout troop and embarks on a quest to win the coveted Golden Scout Trophy that bears his father's name.

However, chaos ensues when Gerdie becomes the troop's co-leader and clashes with their traditionalist leader, Gunnar. Through adventures involving wildlife encounters and the uncovering of buried secrets, Bernt discovers the true meaning of integrity and the essence of heroism.
