Comedy Convergence Heads to Queensland for 'Spa Weekend'

Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Michelle Buteau, and Anna Faris are set to star in the upcoming destination comedy "Spa Weekend," filming in Queensland, Australia. Directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore ("Bad Moms"), the film follows three best friends whose pampering getaway is interrupted by the unexpected arrival of their chaotic fourth friend.

Black Bear and Suzanne Todd Productions, along with Brouhaha Entertainment, are producing the film. Brouhaha's involvement marks their third venture in Queensland, following "Boy Swallows Universe" and "Dangerous Animals."

Queensland's reputation as a production hub has gained prominence, with Production Attraction Strategy, Gold Coast City Council's Screen Attraction Program, and the Australian Government's Location Offset supporting the project.

'Kuch Sapney Apne' to Showcase Love's Challenges

Sridhar Rangayan's "Kuch Sapney Apne" will release theatrically in India on February 21. The film explores love and relationship dynamics through four interwoven stories.

Rangayan serves as both writer and director, delivering a film that resonates with Indian audiences and promotes inclusivity. Deepa Mehta praised the film's emotional depth and exploration of societal norms.

The ensemble cast includes Mona Ambegaonkar, Shishir Sharma, and Abhay Kulkarni, accompanied by a soundtrack featuring Vishal and Rekha Bhardwaj.

Saffron Sky Studios Launches South Asian Distribution Division

Saffron Sky Studios has established a distribution division to empower South Asian filmmakers in North America and globally. Led by Kevin Dalvi, Amit Rana, and Kirtana Banskota, the division aims to bridge the gap between creators and platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and ZEE5.

Dalvi, a former Amazon executive, brings experience in strategy and filmmaking. Rana, a partner at Boston Consulting Group, has a background in entertainment. Banskota, an award-winning filmmaker, promotes underrepresented South Asian perspectives.

The company strives to provide tailored release strategies for South Asian films, ensuring their visibility and impact on a global scale.
