Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa Launch Production Venture, KAMPA Films

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa, the celebrated Indian actors who wed in 2021, have established KAMPA Films, their new production banner. The moniker pays homage to their maternal heritage, incorporating the initials of their mothers.

Rao and Patralekhaa bring a wealth of experience to their venture. Rao's acclaimed performances include "Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank," one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2024; Netflix's "Guns & Gulaabs" (2023); "Badhaai Do" (2022); and "The White Tiger" (2021).

Patralekhaa has garnered praise for her dramatic roles in projects such as Netflix's "IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack" and "Wild Wild Punjab" (both 2024), and Disney+ Hotstar's "Aar Ya Paar" (2022). She made her film debut alongside Rao in Hansal Mehta's "CityLights" (2014).

"Launching KAMPA is a momentous occasion for us," said Patralekhaa. "Cinema has shaped our lives, and this is our way of contributing back. Raj and I are turning a shared dream into reality, fostering fresh talent and compelling storytelling."

Rao echoed her sentiments: "We aspired to create a platform for narrating stories that deeply connect with audiences while being entertaining and inspiring. This endeavor holds a special place in our hearts, and we are committed to presenting original and thought-provoking content."

KAMPA Films has begun developing several projects, with announcements forthcoming. They aim to produce content that resonates with both domestic and international audiences, fulfilling their mission of "producing content that provokes thought and entertains."
