Paradise Draws 7 Million Views in Opening Week

Disney reports that "Paradise," the Hulu drama starring Sterling K. Brown, has garnered over 7 million views within its first nine days of streaming.

These statistics, rarely disclosed by streaming services, pertain solely to the series premiere episode, which debuted on Hulu and Disney+ on January 26th. The remaining seven episodes will be released weekly on Tuesdays.

Disney defines a "view" as the total stream time for an episode divided by its runtime. The premiere episode, titled "Wildcat Is Down," has a runtime of approximately 48 minutes.

Comparison to "The Bear"

In contrast to "The Bear," which released all of its third season episodes simultaneously, "Paradise" is adopting a weekly release schedule. Nonetheless, its viewership figures outpace those of "The Bear's" third season premiere, which drew 5.4 million views within four days.

Hulu and Linear Sampling

"Paradise" has maintained a presence in Hulu's Top 15 list throughout its first week. Additionally, Disney experimented with linear sampling, airing the premiere episode on ABC and FX. The broadcast on ABC garnered an additional 1.4 million viewers, while the debut on FX attracted 250,000 viewers.

Social Media Engagement

According to Hulu, "Paradise" has generated the highest number of TikTok views and shares among all first-season Hulu scripted shows in the past year.

Marketing and Secrecy

Disney has invested heavily in marketing "Paradise" while carefully guarding the show's central twist to maintain secrecy and encourage word-of-mouth sharing.
