Pamela Anderson Reflects on Oscar Snub for 'The Last Showgirl': "The Win Is in the Work"

In an interview with Elle, Pamela Anderson shared her thoughts on being overlooked for an Academy Award nomination for her performance in "The Last Showgirl."

Despite receiving recognition at the Golden Globes, Gotham, and Screen Actors Guild Awards, Anderson expressed gratitude for the film's critical acclaim since its December release. "No nomination for the Oscar, but I couldn't even imagine that," Anderson stated. "I did get a SAG nomination, which is really exciting and...all of this is just unexpected and exciting."

Anderson emphasized the importance of the creative process over accolades. "I always say the win is in the work," she said. "I got to do something I really love, and I needed to do that for my soul."

This year's Best Actress nominees include Cynthia Erivo, Karla Sofía Gascón, Mikey Madison, Demi Moore, and Fernanda Torres.

Anderson previously revealed that her former agent had rejected "The Last Showgirl" script immediately, prompting Gia Coppola to reach out to Anderson through her son. "This is my opportunity to pour my entire life experience into something," Anderson said of the film. "It was a breathtaking piece of work. I've never had that feeling before."
