Jacob Elordi's Weight Loss Journey for "The Narrow Road to the Deep North"

Jacob Elordi lost weight to portray a prisoner of war in the Justin Kurzel-directed series "The Narrow Road to the Deep North." However, Elordi claims that the experience was not entirely arduous.

During a Berlin Film Festival press conference, Elordi shared that the weight loss process, endured alongside castmates who he affectionately refers to as "the lads," was unexpectedly calming.

"There was something profound that happened, in that it wasn't complete torture," Elordi explained. "There was a peace that sort of came over all of us. You kind of reach a level of love that goes beyond what you're used to because everything gets stripped away."

Elordi, sporting sideburns possibly for his role as Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell's "Wuthering Heights," emphasized the collective support among the cast. "We were watching each other and taking care of each other," he said.

Based on Richard Flanagan's Booker Prize-winning novel, "The Narrow Road to the Deep North" follows medical officer Dorrigo Evans, a Japanese prisoner of war. Along with Elordi, the series stars Ciaran Hinds, Odessa Young, Olivia DeJonge, and Simon Baker.

Apart from "The Narrow Road to the Deep North," Elordi has recently appeared in films such as "Priscilla," "Saltburn," "Oh, Canada," with upcoming roles in "Frankenstein" and "Wuthering Heights."
