FireAid Allocates $50 Million to Fire Relief Organizations

Approximately $50 million of the $100 million raised through the FireAid concerts and webcast has been earmarked for distribution to fire relief organizations and charities.

Initial Funding Prioritizes Community-Based Organizations

This initial phase of funding targets community-based organizations at the forefront of wildfire relief efforts. These organizations have the necessary infrastructure, experience, and relationships to deliver assistance efficiently and equitably to fire-impacted individuals. Each organization received $100,000 or more.

Phase Two to Focus on Rebuilding Efforts

The remaining $50 million will be used for phase two grants, which will focus on long-term recovery, remediation, rebuilding, and environmental issues. FireAid emphasized the importance of reserving funds for unanticipated needs raised by communities throughout the recovery process.

$50 Million in Grants Distributed by February

FireAid anticipates distributing the $50 million in grants announced by the end of February.

Smaller Grants Program for Community Organizations

FireAid is also establishing a program to provide smaller grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 to community-based organizations. Interested organizations can find more information at FireAidLA.org.
