2025 American Black Film Festival Ambassadors: Nia Long and Larenz Tate

Miami Beach, June 11-15

Nia Long and Larenz Tate, stars of the iconic 1997 film "Love Jones," will serve as ambassadors for the upcoming 2025 American Black Film Festival (ABFF). The festival will take place in Miami Beach from June 11-15, with an online segment on ABFF PLAY from June 16-23.

Long and Tate will play a vital role in promoting the festival's mission of showcasing Black cinema and fostering opportunities for creators of color in the entertainment industry. The festival will feature a special screening of their hit romance film, "ABFF Remembers: Love Jones," followed by an intimate conversation and musical tribute celebrating its legacy.

"Their work in 'Love Jones' remains iconic, and they have long been trailblazers in the industry," said Jeff and Nicole Friday, founders of Nice Crowd, the festival's presenting sponsor. "Their unwavering support for ABFF is immeasurable, and we are honored to have them as our ambassadors."

Inspired by "Love Jones," Jeff Friday founded the ABFF in 1997 to provide a platform for Black artists. Since then, the festival has hosted an impressive lineup of stars as ambassadors, including Issa Rae, Lena Waithe, Halle Berry, and Idris Elba.

In addition to their acting careers, Long and Tate have also made significant contributions to the industry. Long is a four-time NAACP Image Award winner and a Grammy-nominated performer. She will soon star in the highly anticipated biopic of Michael Jackson, "Michael." Tate stars in the hit TV series "Power Book II: Ghost" and is co-founder of TateMen Entertainment, a company dedicated to amplifying Black voices through content creation.
