The Weeknd's latest album, "Hurry Up Tomorrow," has made a colossal debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with an astounding 490,500 equivalent album units. This marks the biggest opening week of any album in 2025 and the largest week for any album since Taylor Swift's "The Tortured Poets Department" in 2024.

Boasting an impressive 22-song tracklist, "Hurry Up Tomorrow" features collaborations with notable artists such as Giorgio Moroder, Anitta, Justice, Travis Scott, Florence + the Machine, Future, Lana Del Rey, and Playboi Carti.

Of the album's total units, album sales accounted for 359,000, while streaming contributed 171.5 million on-demand official streams, showcasing the album's widespread appeal.

This release marks The Weeknd's most successful debut week out of his five full-length albums and surpasses his previous album, "After Hours," in terms of sales.

"Hurry Up Tomorrow" is also set to be accompanied by a film of the same name, produced by Lionsgate and starring The Weeknd himself alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. Scheduled for release on May 16, the film is expected to feature music from the album.

In a recent interview with Variety, The Weeknd hinted that he may not abandon his moniker altogether, stating that "everything needs to feel like a challenge" and that he remains excited about future artistic endeavors.
