The Masked Singer Season 13: Oscar De La Hoya Unmasked as Fuzzy Peas

Spoiler Alert: Details follow for Season 13, Episode 2 of "The Masked Singer," "Shrek Night," which aired February 19 on Fox.

Despite being a Grammy-nominated Latin pop artist, Oscar De La Hoya admitted to feeling intimidated by the competition on "The Masked Singer" Season 13.

"When they asked me to do the show, I was like, 'Okay, wait a minute. I do have experience with singing.' I cut an album back in the day, and I got nominated for a Grammy.," he told Variety. "I said to myself, 'Okay. I have a little voice. I can do something right here. I'm going to have fun.'"

De La Hoya, who performed as Fuzzy Peas, believed he could not compete with some of the more impressive vocalists on the show. "The voices I was hearing backstage, I was like, 'What the hell am I doing here? These guys can sing!'"

None of the panelists correctly guessed De La Hoya's identity. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg suggested Antonio Banderas, Robin Thicke thought it was John Leguizamo, Rita Ora named Cesar Milan, and Ken Jeong suggested Pitbull.

"Boxing prepared me for 'The Masked Singer,'" De La Hoya said. "Going on stage or inside the ring, in front of thousands of people or millions watching at home. Going on stage in 'The Masked Singer,' you get nervous, butterflies on your stomach. It's that same feeling when I used to go inside the ring."

De La Hoya sang "I'm a Believer" by Smashmouth for his performance. If he had returned for another episode, he was planning to sing a Rat Pack song.

"It was a blast," he said. "Fuzzy Peas was the funniest thing. I was laughing and dying inside because it was so cute."

Oscar De La Hoya joins Cedric the Entertainer as the celebrities unmasked on "The Masked Singer" Season 13.

"Shrek Night" opened with Ken Jeong singing "All Star" by Smashmouth, followed by his fellow panelists.

Nick Cannon returned as host, alongside panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Rita Ora, and Robin Thicke. Ora filled in for Nicole Scherzinger for a third consecutive season.

New this season is "Detective Lucky Duck," a mysterious masked character who provides clues and assists the panelists in guessing the identities of the contestants. Additionally, "Crack the Case" clue cases offer further insights into eliminated contestants.

Fuzzy Peas' clue case included a golf ball in a golf glove. "I love this sport, it's one of my passions. I feel like a master when I put on the second most important glove I own, and my swing gets better every day," he said.

Other themed episodes this season include tributes to "Ghostbusters," the Grand Ole Opry, the Rat Pack, and various musical genres.

Masked contestants in Season 13 include Honey Pot, Space Ranger, Cherry Blossom, Coral, Fuzzy Peas, Ant, Paparazzo, Griffin, and Bat, with more to be announced.
