Squid Game Season 2 Breaks Streaming Records with 4.6 Billion Minutes Watched

According to Nielsen data, "Squid Game" Season 2 amassed 4.6 billion minutes watched on Netflix during its first full week of availability.

While slightly lower than the 4.9 billion minutes attained in the previous week, which included the debut weekend, this achievement remains significant for the South Korean drama. Only a handful of series have surpassed 4 billion minutes watched on Nielsen's weekly streaming rankings, with "Squid Game" becoming the first to do so since "Wednesday" in 2022.

It's noteworthy that Nielsen combines viewership of all seasons under a single statistic. Hence, the 4.6 billion minutes include data from both Season 1 and Season 2 between December 30 and January 5. However, Nielsen also indicates that Season 2 accounted for approximately 80% of this total.
