Negotiations Concluded, New Contract to Cover Spanish-Language Performers

SAG-AFTRA, the leading labor union representing performers in the United States, has announced a tentative agreement with Telemundo Television Studios to provide representation for its Spanish-language television performers.

Details of the Agreement

The agreement, if approved, will cover the contract period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2028. It includes:

* Participation in and contributions to SAG-AFTRA's health and pension plans
* Increased compensation in various areas
* Enhanced benefits and working conditions for Spanish-language television performers

History of Collaboration

SAG-AFTRA previously reached an agreement with Telemundo in 2018, which established representation and benefits for its performers. That agreement was the result of a successful unionization vote, with 81% of eligible Telemundo performers supporting the move.

Statements from Key Stakeholders

Carmen Olivares, SAG-AFTRA's negotiating committee chair, expressed her gratitude for the successful negotiations and emphasized the importance of supporting Spanish-language performers.

Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-AFTRA's national executive director and chief negotiator, acknowledged the committee's dedication and looked forward to presenting the agreement to the National Board.

Javier Pons, executive vice president of Telemundo Television Studios, highlighted the company's commitment to its performers and the value of its ongoing relationship with SAG-AFTRA.
