Robert Pattinson's 'Fargo'-Inspired Accent in 'Mickey 17'

In a surprising revelation during the Berlin Film Festival press conference for Bong Joon Ho's "Mickey 17," Robert Pattinson disclosed the inspiration behind his peculiar accent in the film: Steve Buscemi's iconic character from "Fargo."

In the sci-fi comedy, Pattinson portrays Mickey Barnes, a disposable clone worker on a human colony who willingly embarks on perilous missions with the understanding that his body will be replaced upon death. The film follows the adventures of his 17th and 18th clones, both exhibiting distinct and unconventional accents.

"I think I realized today what I was doing," Pattinson explained. "Bong mentioned Peter Stormare from 'Fargo' as an inspiration for [clone] 18. And somehow that got into my head, but I accidentally ended up doing Steve Buscemi for 17. I didn't realize it until today."

The cast of "Mickey 17" includes Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. Despite suffering several release date adjustments due to labor disputes, the film is currently scheduled to premiere in US theaters on March 7.
