Exclusive: Paramount Secures $700 Million Slate Financing Deal with Domain Capital

Paramount Pictures has secured a substantial slate financing partnership with Domain Capital Group, a prominent private investment management firm, ensuring the production of a minimum of 30 cinematic releases.

Multi-Genre Portfolio

The agreement encompasses a diverse range of films spanning various budgets and genres, including eagerly anticipated titles such as "The Smurfs Movie," "The Naked Gun" reboot, Glen Powell's "The Running Man," and the Jack Quaid-led action thriller "Novocaine."

Potential Extension

Under specific conditions, the co-financing arrangement may be expanded to 40 productions. Domain Capital Group, headquartered in Atlanta, is led by Managing Director Pete Chiappetta, who has previously collaborated with Paramount on "Gladiator II," "Sonic the Hedgehog 3," and "Better Man."

Industry Precedence

Domain Capital Group recently entered into a multi-year pact with Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, commencing with the record-breaking "Barbie." In 2022, the firm announced a $700 million investment fund dedicated to entertainment and media.

Strategic Implications

This deal coincides with the impending acquisition of Paramount Global by Skydance and Gerry Cardinale's RedBird Capital Partners, a significant development in the entertainment landscape.
