Marilyn Manson Accusations: Evan Rachel Wood Speaks Out After District Attorney Declines Prosecution

Los Angeles, California - In response to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's decision not to prosecute Marilyn Manson on allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence, his ex-partner Evan Rachel Wood has released a statement supporting survivors.

On Friday, Wood took to Instagram to address the ruling, which concluded a four-year investigation into the accusations against the Grammy-nominated artist.

"While we had compelling evidence to support our claims, the statute of limitations prevents many of these crimes from being prosecuted," she wrote. "This outcome underscores the importance of advocating for stronger laws to ensure survivors have adequate time to seek justice."

Wood emphasized the Phoenix Act, which she co-authored, aimed to extend the time limit for domestic violence victims to come forward. However, the act does not apply retroactively to cases that occurred before its passage.

"Evidence of violent crimes should not expire," Wood said. "I am proud of the survivors who bravely shared their experiences, knowing that their cooperation may prevent similar tragedies."

District Attorney Nathan Hochman explained that "the allegations of domestic violence fall outside the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt."

"We recognize the courage of the women who reported these events," Hochman added. "Their voices have contributed to the ongoing dialogue about sexual assault and domestic violence."

The ruling highlights the challenges faced by survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in obtaining justice. Wood's statement serves as a call to action for systemic reforms and support for victims.
