Blackpink's Lisa Stuns as Mook in "The White Lotus" Season 3

Get ready, BLINKs! Blackpink's Lisa is set to debut her solo album "Alter Ego" this month, but before that, she's unveiling a new persona to the world: Mook in "The White Lotus."

Acting Debut in HBO's Emmy-Winning Series

Lisa, credited as Lalisa Manoban, makes her acting debut in the third season of HBO's "The White Lotus." She portrays Mook, a wellness guru at a Thailand beach resort. Off-screen, Mook develops a romantic connection with the resort's security guard, Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong).

Challenges and Support

In an interview with Variety, Lisa admitted to being nervous on her first day of filming. However, she proved to be an asset to Thapthimthong, whose preferred language is English. Lisa's fluency in Thai helped ensure the authenticity of Gaitok's dialogue.

The cast bonded off-set, spending time together for dinners, drinks, and karaoke. Thapthimthong praised Lisa's support during karaoke nights, stating, "She would get into a dance routine."

Becoming Mook

Lisa drew inspiration from her own personality to create Mook, describing her as "lady-like and flirtier" than her tomboyish self in real life. The uniform and hairstyle also played a crucial role in transforming her into the character.

Representing Thai Culture

Lisa expressed her pride in being able to speak Thai and showcase her culture in a Hollywood series. She said, "It's rare. I'm just so proud that I can represent my culture through this series."

Future Aspirations

Lisa's solo debut, "Alter Ego," introduces a new persona, Kiki. While different from Mook, Lisa believes they have distinct vibes.

She also expressed her desire to continue acting, with a particular interest in action films due to her dance and performance skills. Lisa acknowledged the differences between being a singer and an actor but remains eager to explore the acting world.

Blackpink's Upcoming Tour

Regarding Blackpink's tour, Lisa revealed that it is scheduled for this year.

"The White Lotus" Season 3 premieres on HBO and Max on February 16th, with new episodes airing weekly on Sundays.
