Lauren Daigle and Trombone Shorty Bring New Orleans Flair to Super Bowl Performance

At Sunday's Super Bowl in New Orleans, Lauren Daigle graced the Caesars Superdome field to perform "America the Beautiful." Joined by fellow Louisianian Trombone Shorty, the duo delivered a vibrant rendition that showcased the city's rich musical heritage.

Daigle and Shorty opted for a lively brass band accompaniment, replacing the traditional string accompaniment. The pair's unique interpretation paid homage to New Orleans' brass band tradition.

In a pre-game interview with NOLA.com, Daigle revealed that Trombone Shorty had invited her to join the performance. The collaboration marked their second, following Daigle's appearance in Shorty's 2024 music video for "These Are The Days" and her contribution to his album "Lifted."

At 33, Daigle is a two-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter known for blending spiritual lyrics with pop music. Her tracks such as "Trust in You" and "Hold on to Me" are Christian radio staples, and she has released four Top 40 albums, including 2018's "Look Up Child."

A Louisiana native, Daigle rose to prominence with her 2015 album "How Can It Be," which topped Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart. Her latest album, a self-titled release in 2023, featured the hit single "Thank God I Do." Daigle's recent releases also include a live album, "Sessions," recorded at SiriusXM.

Daigle and Trombone Shorty's inclusion in this year's Super Bowl lineup reflects the authentic New Orleans flavor of the event, which also features Louisiana natives Jon Batiste and Ledisi.
