Killer Mike Sues Security Companies Over False Arrest at 2024 Grammys

After his arrest at the 2024 Grammys ceremony, Atlanta rapper Killer Mike has filed a lawsuit against S&S Labor Force, Inc. and JRM Private Security. The lawsuit alleges false arrest, assault, and battery, claiming the security companies had no authority to detain Mike or suspect him of any crime.

According to Mike's lawsuit, he was detained by security while trying to access the red carpet area of the event for public statements and photographs. Despite attempts to clarify his identity, the security guards allegedly refused to let him pass. When Mike tried to leave the area, he claims the guards physically assaulted him and prevented him from doing so.

Following the incident, the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office declined to prosecute Mike, indicating that they did not believe he had committed any criminal act. The lawsuit argues that the security companies knew or should have known that they had no legal justification for detaining or using force against Mike.

Mike is seeking damages for the alleged false arrest, assault, and battery. He is also requesting a declaration that the security companies' actions were unlawful and a violation of his civil rights.
