Indie streaming platform Nebula orders "Sub/liminal", an original dark anthology series produced by Oscar-winning Dan Jinks

Nebula has greenlit its first-ever scripted original series, "Sub/liminal," with Academy Award-winning producer Dan Jinks ("American Beauty," "Big Fish," "Pushing Daisies") attached to executive produce.

Described as a dark anthology series akin to "The Twilight Zone" and "Black Mirror," "Sub/liminal" will delve into the dynamics of human relationships and the consequences when those relationships unravel.

The six-episode first season will showcase stories from Nebula creators, produced in collaboration with experienced directors and producers. Nebula CEO Dave Wiskus will join Jinks as an executive producer.

"I'm thrilled to collaborate with Dave Wiskus and the exceptional writers and directors he's gathered at Nebula for this captivating new series," said Jinks.

"Dan Jinks has an Oscar, so I'll do whatever he says," added Wiskus.

The order for "Sub/liminal" follows the launch of Nebula's studio arm, Nebula Motion Pictures, last year. The studio aims to establish a framework for digital creators to transform their stories into high-quality films and television series, bridging the gap between YouTube and premium streaming platforms.

Dan Jinks, the award-winning producer behind "American Beauty" and "Pushing Daisies," has a prolific filmography that includes "Milk," "Big Fish," and "The Nines." His television credits include "Traveler" and "Side Order of Life."
