Ikusmira Berriak Announces 2025 Residency Program

Ikusmira Berriak, the acclaimed development program based in San Sebastian, has selected six projects for its 2025 residency. With applications soaring 34% this year, the program's popularity continues to grow.

Expanding societal pressures

Drawing from around the world, the program offers residencies that foster creative exploration. This year, four projects explore societal pressures through physical metamorphosis:

* "La Koreana" features a woman transforming into a half-crocodile creature.
* "900 Tons" delves into the impact of financial struggles and visibility.
* "Cowboy Billi" explores gender transformation.
* "Mermaids" examines the role of memory and resilience.

Residency Details

Organized by the San Sebastián Film Festival, Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, and Tabakalera, Ikusmira Berriak's residency program offers two phases.

* Phase 1 (March 24 - May 4): Counselling and project development.
* Phase 2 (September): Presentation of projects to industry professionals.

Retrospective Exhibition

Beginning January 25, a retrospective titled "Ikusmira Berriak 10 Years" will showcase 21 films developed through the program and screened at prestigious festivals worldwide.
