Euphoria Star Hunter Schafer's Passport Gender Marker Changed to Male Due to Trump's Executive Order

Los Angeles, CA - Hunter Schafer, a prominent trans actress, revealed in a TikTok video that her recently renewed passport incorrectly lists her gender as male. This change is in line with Donald Trump's executive order declaring that the government will only recognize two genders: male and female.

Schafer, known for her roles in HBO's "Euphoria," "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes," and Amazon's upcoming "Blade Runner 2099," expressed her shock and frustration in the video. She explained that her gender markers have been female since her teens, and she had never encountered an issue until now.

Under the Trump administration's policy, the Bureau of Consular Affairs has restricted passport applications seeking gender marker changes or renewals with gender markers that differ from the applicant's birth-assigned gender.

Schafer believes that the change on her passport is a direct result of the current administration. She emphasized that while the letter on her passport does not alter her trans identity, it presents challenges in her daily life and when traveling abroad.

"This is real," Schafer asserted. "Trans people are never going to stop existing, and fuck this administration."

Schafer's experience highlights the ongoing challenges faced by transgender individuals, particularly in the realm of government recognition and documentation. It underscores the importance of advocating for inclusive policies that respect and affirm the diversity of gender identities.
