Humanitas Prizes, Fellowships, and College Awards Now Open for Submissions

Los Angeles, CA - Humanitas, a non-profit organization honoring and empowering writers who explore the human experience through film and television, invites submissions for its prestigious 2025 Humanitas Prizes, New Voices Fellowship, and College Screenwriting Awards.

Humanitas Prizes

The Humanitas Prizes recognize exceptional writing in film and television across nine categories:

* Drama Teleplay
* Comedy Teleplay
* Limited Series Teleplay
* Children's Teleplay
* Drama Feature Film
* Comedy Feature Film
* Family Feature Film
* Documentary Feature
* Docuseries Episode

For the first time, the documentary category will include two awards: one for a documentary feature and another for a docuseries episode.

New Voices Fellowship

The Humanitas New Voices Fellowship is a six-month mentorship program for unrepresented early-career writers.

Humanitas College Screenwriting Awards

The Humanitas College Screenwriting Awards honor outstanding college and university students for their screenwriting achievements and include two awards:

* David and Lynn Angell College Comedy Award
* Carol Mendelsohn College Drama Award

Submission Deadlines

* Humanitas Prizes: April 1, 2025
* New Voices Fellowship and College Screenwriting Awards: April 15, 2025

Eligibility and Application

Studios, networks, production companies, and individual writers can submit to the Humanitas Prizes. Application deadlines for the New Voices Fellowship and College Screenwriting Awards is April 15, 2025. All applications must be submitted online.

Judging and Awards

Over 40 industry professionals, including writers, professors, filmmakers, and executives, will judge the entries. Up to 40 nominees will be selected across nine categories. The Humanitas Prizes and College Screenwriting Awards will be presented at a special gala in September 2025.
