Toonz Media Group Unveils Animated Feature "Gummibär and Friends, Operation Cotton Candy"

Berlin, Germany - Toonz Media Group showcased its highly anticipated CGI-animated film, "Gummibär and Friends, Operation Cotton Candy," at Berlin's European Film Market (EFM). The movie marks the cinematic debut of global YouTube sensation Gummibär, the beloved green gummy bear whose 2007 viral hit "I'm a Gummy Bear (The Gummy Bear Song)" has amassed billions of views.

The spy spoof comedy features a renowned animation team, with "Amazing Maurice" producer Robert Chandler as creative producer and Pete Dodd ("Corpse Bride," "Fantastic Mr. Fox") as director. BAFTA winner Dan Berlinka ("The A-List," "Dixi") penned the screenplay.

The plot revolves around Gummibär's accidental involvement in a high-stakes espionage mission. Teaming up with martial arts expert Kala and science whiz Harry, Gummibär embarks on a quest to save Earth from "colorful destruction," all while believing he's simply testing cotton candy flavors.

"Gummibär is cinematic gold," said Chandler. "He has the pedigree of Jim Carrey, Jerry Lewis, and Buster Keaton. He's a disruptor with a heart of gold."

Toonz, known for producing over 10,000 minutes of 2D and CGI content annually, brings its extensive feature film experience to "Gummibär and Friends." The studio has collaborated on projects with Marvel ("Wolverine and the X-Men"), Lionsgate ("Speed Racer: The Next Generation"), and Universal ("Mostly Ghostly").

"We're thrilled to work with Toonz again to bring the first full-length 'Gummibär and Friends' movie to our fans," said Christian Schneider, CEO, and Jürgen Korduletsch, president of GBI. "It's a chance to build on the success of the 'Gummibär and Friends Series' and create a wild and wacky adventure for our audience."

P. Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, added: "Gummibär's global appeal is unmatched. With Robert, Pete, and Dan at the helm, we're confident that 'Gummibär and Friends' will captivate audiences worldwide and elevate this iconic franchise to new heights."
