Elton John and Brandi Carlile Collaborate on Album, "Who Believes in Angels?"

Multi-Grammy Award winners Elton John and Brandi Carlile have joined forces for an upcoming album titled "Who Believes in Angels?" The 10-track record will be released on April 4th via Interscope Records.

The album features the first single, the title track, out today. The two singers will also perform a one-night-only concert at the London Palladium on March 26th, aptly named "An Evening With Elton John & Brandi Carlile." Fans who pre-order the album will have access to tickets for this exclusive event.

"Who Believes in Angels?" is the culmination of a collaboration between John, Carlile, producer Andrew Watt, and John's longtime lyricist Bernie Taupin. Carlile and Taupin co-wrote lyrics on several of the tracks, including the Oscar-nominated "Never Too Late," which appears as a bonus track on the album.

The album was written and recorded in a 20-day session at L.A.'s Sunset Sound Studio in October 2023. It features backing musicians such as Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith, renowned bassist Pino Palladino, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.

A short film accompanying the album release is said to offer an unprecedented glimpse into the creative process behind the music, capturing the breakthroughs, frustrations, and raw emotions of the artists involved.

John and Carlile have been close friends and mutual admirers for many years. Carlile has frequently credited John's music as an inspiration, and their collaboration on "Who Believes in Angels?" is a testament to their artistic bond.

The album's track list pays homage to some of John and Carlile's early influences, with song titles like "The Rose of Laura Nyro" and "Little Richard's Bible." Taupin's lyrics contribute to the album's introspective and thematically rich nature.

In a heartfelt message posted on Instagram, Carlile expressed her admiration for John and her gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. She described their friendship as "one of the greatest friendships of my life."

"Who Believes in Angels?" marks John's first studio album since his worldwide farewell tour and Carlile's first in three and a half years. Both artists are known for their powerful vocals, captivating performances, and enduring contributions to the music industry.
