Born Francisca Viveros Barradas in Veracruz, Paquita rose to prominence in the male-dominated ranchera genre. Her anthems of love and revenge, such as "Rata de dos Patas" and "Tres Veces Te Engane," fearlessly addressed themes of feminism and machismo deeply ingrained in Mexican culture.
