David St. John, Former 'America's Next Top Model' Producer, Dies at 56

David St. John, a renowned television producer known for his work on shows like "America's Next Top Model," sadly passed away on December 19 due to pancreatic cancer in Seattle. He was 56 years old.

St. John's career began at MTV on the series "Taildaters," where he rose through the ranks from assistant to story producer. He later joined the team of "America's Next Top Model," where he co-executive produced over 100 episodes of the popular reality show.

Throughout his career, St. John was passionate about amplifying the stories of underrepresented communities. This passion was evident in his work on the groundbreaking show "I Am Jazz," which followed transgender teenager Jazz Jennings and earned him a GLAAD Media Award. He also contributed to projects like "The Ts Madison Experience."

His final project, TLC's "Jay & Pamela," featured an engaged couple with osteogenesis imperfecta.

"David St. John radiated a brilliant light that illuminated everyone in his presence," said Drew Tappon, Head of Unscripted Development, Programming & Specials at OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. "He uplifted every aspect of his work and made those around him feel valued."

The Jennings family shared a heartfelt statement, saying, "David was not only the executive producer of 'I Am Jazz' – he was family. His unwavering support and infectious spirit gave us the strength to share our journey. His legacy will live on."

St. John had previously undergone two craniotomies to remove tumors and devoted himself to supporting patients facing brain surgery.

He is survived by his husband, Scott Darlington; sisters Corrine and Rachel; mother, Lynn; and sisters-in-law, Kirsten and Karen Fenswick.

Memorial service arrangements will be announced in due course.
