Dave Franco and Alison Brie Return to Sundance with Horror Film "Together"

Dave Franco and Alison Brie, the married couple known for their onscreen chemistry, are bringing their talents to the Sundance Film Festival with their latest collaboration, "Together."

The film, written and directed by Michael Shanks, follows a couple who retreat to rural isolation after experiencing a supernatural force. Franco and Brie play the strained couple, who face challenges in their relationship amidst the eerie events.

In an interview with Variety Studio presented by Audible at Sundance, Franco and Brie discussed their latest project and their unique approach to working together. They emphasized their comfort level and ability to take risks with the material due to their close bond.

"We love it and we want to keep going," Franco said about acting together. "As long as people let us keep doing it, we feel like we're getting away with something."

However, the actors revealed that they avoid giving each other acting notes on film sets to prevent any potential tension.

"Together" marks Franco and Brie's first collaboration since 2017. The duo expressed excitement about pursuing solo projects after the intense filming process but emphasized the importance of maintaining their independence.

Regarding the horror genre, Franco and Brie praised the demanding nature of the acting required, highlighting Demi Moore's Oscar-nominated performance in "The Substance." They expressed admiration for the recognition that horror movies and actors are receiving within the industry.

"The stakes have never been higher," Brie said. "She's incredible. It's awesome."

"Together" will have its world premiere in the Midnight section of Sundance's lineup.
