Cynthia Erivo to Receive Stephen F. Kolzak Award at GLAAD Media Awards

Cynthia Erivo will be honored with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award at the 36th annual GLAAD Media Awards.

GLAAD's Stephen F. Kolzak Award recognizes LGBTQ+ media professionals who have made a significant impact in promoting queer stories and individuals. Past recipients include Jeremy Pope, Laverne Cox, Wanda Sykes, Jim Parsons, and Melissa Etheridge. Erivo was recently Oscar-nominated for her role in "Wicked" and won a Tony Award in 2016 for "The Color Purple."

"Her legacy is defined not by accolades but by how she uses her platform to uplift marginalized communities amid her success," said GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. "Her commitment to intersectionality and authenticity is unwavering, and we are proud to present her with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award."

The award ceremony will take place on March 27 in Los Angeles.
