Bookie Cancelled by Max After Two Seasons

"Bookie," the comedy series starring Sebastian Maniscalco as a veteran bookmaker in Los Angeles, has been cancelled by Max after two seasons.

Created by Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay, "Bookie" debuted on Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming service in November 2023 and premiered its second season in December 2024.

The series followed Maniscalco's character as he navigated the world of sports betting while juggling unstable clients and the legalization of gambling.

In a statement, a Max spokesperson expressed gratitude for the show's creators and cast: "Bookie made us laugh while pulling back the curtain on the world of sports betting. We will not be moving forward with a third season, but we are grateful for the brilliant team behind this comedy."

The supporting cast included Omar Dorsey, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito, Jorge Garcia, Maxim Swinton, Rob Corddry, and Selina Kaye. Guest stars featured Ray Romano, Laraine Newman, Zach Braff, and Charlie Sheen.

Produced by Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros. Television, "Bookie" was executive produced by Lorre, Bakay, Maniscalco, and Judi Marmel.

Maniscalco, a renowned stand-up comedian, previously appeared in films like "Green Book" and "The Irishman." He also voiced Spike in "The Super Mario Bros. Movie."
