Beyoncé's Country Grammy Win

Despite professing that her "Cowboy Carter" project was not exclusively a country album, Beyoncé submitted several songs from it for consideration in country categories at the 2025 Grammys. Following some skepticism, her gamble paid off, as she won the Best Country Duo/Group Performance award alongside Miley Cyrus for "II Most Wanted."

Historical Victory

Beyoncé's win marks a significant milestone, making her the first Black woman in over 50 years to receive a country Grammy. The last time this occurred was in 1974 when the Pointer Sisters won for "Fairytale."

Multi-Genre Submissions

Reflecting the diverse nature of "Cowboy Carter," Beyoncé submitted material from the album across multiple genres. In addition to her country nominations, she also garnered nods in pop, Americana, and melodic rap categories.

Top Category Contention

While not present at the pre-telecast ceremony, Beyoncé is expected to attend the main event where she remains in contention for the top marquee categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Record-Breaking Nominee

With her 11 nominations this year, Beyoncé extends her status as the most nominated person in Grammy history, bringing her total to 99. Prior to the 2025 ceremony, she had already won 32 Grammys, setting another record.

Eyes on Album of the Year

All eyes are on Beyoncé as she seeks to finally win Album of the Year after four previous nominations. This category has historically been the site of perceived near-misses, including when Adele apologized for her win over Beyoncé's critically acclaimed "Lemonade."
