BBC Studios and Movistar Plus+ Expand Partnership, Bringing BBC Player and More to Spain

BBC Studios has unveiled a major expansion of its partnership with Movistar Plus+ in Spain, introducing new content offerings that will enhance the viewing experience for Spanish audiences.

Highlights of the Expanded Partnership:

* BBC Player Launch: Movistar Plus+ subscribers will gain access to BBC Player, a video-on-demand (VOD) service featuring up to 1,000 hours of curated content from the BBC's extensive catalog.
* Scripted and Unscripted Content: BBC Player will offer a mix of popular scripted titles like "The Louis Theroux Interviews" and "Amanda & Alan's Italian Job," as well as unscripted programming.
* FAST Channel Expansion: Alongside BBC Player, additional Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) channels will be launched, further diversifying the content offerings.
* Exclusive Advertising Sales: Movistar Plus+ will become the exclusive advertising sales partner for BBC's FAST channels and BBC Player's VOD inventory, solidifying its position as a key player in the region.

Decade-Long Collaboration and Growth:

The partnership between BBC Studios and Movistar Plus+ spans over a decade, with a focus on delivering premium drama and natural history content to Spanish viewers. Notable successes include "Planet Earth III," "Mammals," "Time 2," and "Blue Lights." The expanded partnership will continue to showcase BBC Earth programming, including highly anticipated titles like "Blue Planet III" and "Kingdom."
