Amber Ruffin to Headline White House Correspondents' Dinner

Amber Ruffin will grace the stage as the featured entertainer at this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner, scheduled for April 26th in Washington, D.C.

"Amber was an instant choice when considering performers for this year's dinner," stated Eugene Daniels, president of the White House Correspondents' Association and Politico reporter. "Her ability to straddle the line between incisive commentary and humor while provoking thoughtful discourse aligns perfectly with the dinner's mission."

Ruffin, a renowned writer and performer known for her work on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and comedy shows like "Have I Got News For You," will bring her signature wit and social commentary to the event. She plans to roast political figures in attendance, including the President and First Lady, as well as politicians and media personalities.

Proceeds from the dinner support the WHCA, an organization dedicated to protecting and promoting freedom of the press. Ruffin's background includes a Second City residency and hosting "The Amber Ruffin Show" (2020-2023). She has penned for "Detroiters," "A Black Lady Sketch Show," and prestigious award ceremonies.

Daniels emphasized that Ruffin's "unique talents" resonate particularly with the current political and cultural landscape. "Her astute observations will complement the dinner's tradition of celebrating freedom of the press while holding the powerful accountable," he noted.

With her extensive experience in writing for stage and screen and her successful podcast "The Amber & Lacey, Lacey & Amber Show! Together," Ruffin brings a fresh perspective to the prestigious occasion.
